Winter Scene After A Large Snowfall
You can see by this picture how the Earthship gets buried after a big snowfall. Because of the slanted windows the snowfall accumulates on the windows which make it almost impossible to see out. We come around the front of the Earthship with brooms and sweep them off so we can see outside. This type of snowfall is rare though in the Durango area.
Here
is another picture after a big snowfall with the jeep having approximately
a foot of snow on top of it. This was after one night worth of snow.
Again this is rare.
This was our first winter in Colorado and definitely the biggest winter.
During the month of January 1993 it snowed almost every single day.
We had to dig paths in order to get from our trailers to the Earthship.
